Social network Likee says registering branch in Russia

MOSCOW, Nov 24 (PRIME) -- Short video creation platform Likee is registering a branch in Russia and plans to open it within the period stipulated by the country’s law, a Likee spokesperson told PRIME late on Tuesday.

“As a responsible company working in Russia, Likee has voluntarily got registered with the register of social networks of the communications service this year. According to the law, we’re registering the company’s affiliate branch in Russia and are going to do it in the time limits set by law,” the spokesperson said.

Likee also embedded one of the traffic meters recommended by the communications regulator on October 21.

On Monday, the watchdog ordered 13 foreign companies that own 22 information resources, including Likee, to open a representative office, a branch or a local firm in the country from 2022.
